Keys AHEC is a non-profit Public Health Agency in the Florida Keys that is offering *FREE* Living Healthy Workshops to the public!! These workshops help you manage ongoing health conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, chronic pain, anxiety, arthritis and more. Workshops will be held at the Florida Keys Community College, Key West Campus. Registration details are below. Diabetes Self-Management Workshop This workshop will cover a variety of subjects such as, healthy eating, physical activity, meal planning, reading and understanding nutritional labels, relaxation, stress management, symptoms of low blood sugar, medication, foot care and much more. This program is specifically designed for people who have diabetes or a family history of diabetes and for those who are partners or care-takers of diabetics. Thursdays: Jan. 24 – Feb 28 5:00 – 7:30 pm Living Healthy Self-Management Workshop This workshop will cover a variety of subjects such as healthy eating, physical activity, relaxation, pain and stress management, medication, and much more. Learn better ways to talk with your doctor and family about your health and treatment options. This program is specifically designed for caretakers of or people who have chronic conditions such as high blood pressure, chronic pain, arthritis, asthma or any other condition that impacts your health. Learn how to take control and manage your condition while maintaining a high quality of life.
